Glasgow stabbing spree not terrorism, just ordinary Islam.

From the Korans handed out in Aotea Square:  2:193. Fight them until there is no [more] unbelief and [until] religion [i.e., worship] is [acknowledged to be] for God.
3:138. This [Qur’an] is a clear statement to [all] the people and a guidance and instruction for those conscious of God.
139. So do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will be superior if you are [true] believers.

Police swarmed the centre of Glasgow after a man went on a stabbing attack.

A knifeman is dead and six people have been injured, including a police officer, after a stabbing rampage in the Scottish city of Glasgow.

Police Scotland confirmed a man had been shot dead by armed police during the incident at a hotel on West George Street at 12.50pm on Friday afternoon.

The incident is not being treated as terrorism, police said.

Earlier BBC reports that two people had been stabbed to death have not been confirmed by police.

Video from the scene shows heavily-armed police storming the Park Inn Hotel, which has been used as a venue to house asylum seekers during the coronavirus pandemic.

Assistant Chief Constable Steve Johnson said six people had been taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries, including a 42-year-old police officer who is in a critical but stable condition.

“Officers were on the scene within two minutes, and armed officers shortly afterwards, and the incident was quickly contained,” he said.

“There is no wider risk to the public, however the street remains closed and people should avoid the area.

“I would like to reassure the public that at this time we are not looking for anyone else in relation to this incident.”

He added that as with any time there is an officer-involved shooting, an internal investigation will take place.

One eyewitness in the hotel described the scene as “full of blood”.

“I was in my room and I heard loud screams from downstairs,” a man who gave his name as John told the BBC.

“I got worried and went to check what was going on.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he was “deeply saddened” by the incident and thanked emergency services.

Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said the reports are “truly dreadful” and that her thoughts were with all of those involved.

Last Saturday three people were stabbed to death in Reading, England in what police have deemed a terrorist attack.
