Prostitution Bill passes by one vote

NZ’s legalising Prostitution Bill passes by one vote due to NZ’s first Muslim MP not wanting to vote on the issue. Sex slaves are an Islamic institution throughout their literature from their prophet.

Parliament last night passed law changes after MP’s used their conscience to vote 60-59 in favour of decriminalising prostitution.

After 32 months of discussion, 222 public submissions and 415 hours of debate by Parliament and its select committees there is now a legal framework around the prostitution industry.

Those in the packed public gallery who supported the Prostitution Law Reform Bill erupted with cheers when the vote was read out. Others sat there with ashen faces before walking out. There was a mixed bunch in the gallery: many from the Prostitutes Collective, a few Christians, transsexuals, lobbyists and even a teenager with a bright T-shirt declaring “Jesus loves hookers”.

United Future and NZ First MPs opposed the bill, while Green MPs and Cabinet Ministers supported it. Labour MP Ashraf Choudhary abstained from the vote. Had he not done so there most likely would have been a tied vote, the Bill would not have passed, and my prediction of a tied vote would have been bang on. Perhaps Choudhary didn’t want to vote against Helen Clark, but this is a conscience vote – so does no vote mean no conscience?

However, few Kiwi’s are aware that Islams perfect mad made love to hiw 9yo wife each night, or that Islamic morals are not in any way equal to Christianity’s.

Many are still unaware of the child marriages happening here in New Zealand, let alone that Islamic sharia allows either for both sex slaves and temporary marriages. Nikah Mut’ah is a fixed-time arrangement between a man and a woman that dissolves once the duration expires. In the UK and other areas, the couple even visit an Imam to get the temporary agreement approved, however this usually isn’t required anywhere else, unless you’re caught.

Some of the more common passages defining Nikah Mut’ah are :

Quran (4:24)“And those of whom ye seek content (by marrying them), give unto them their portions as a duty. And there is no sin for you in what ye do by mutual agreement after the duty (hath been done)”Quran (5:87)“O you who believe! do not forbid (yourselves) the good things which Allah has made lawful for you and do not exceed the limits; surely Allah does not love those who exceed the limits” Surprisingly the context for this verse (found in Bukhari (60:139) is temporary marriage, in this case, trading an article of clothing for a few days of access to a woman’s body. By calling this a “good thing,” Muhammad really stood traditional morality on its ear.

Hadith and Sira

Sahih Bukhari 62:13“We used to participate in the holy battles led by Allah’s Apostle and we had nothing (no wives) with us. So we said, “Shall we get ourselves castrated?” He forbade us that and then allowed us to marry women with a temporary contract (2) and recited to us: — ‘O you who believe ! Make not unlawful the good things which Allah has made lawful for you, but commit no transgression.’ (5.87)”

Sahih Muslim (8:3252) – Muhammad clearly allowed his men to use temporary marriage as a sanctioned form of prostitution. (To be fair, the end of the hadith also seems to suggest that the practice was later forbidden. Islamic scholars disagree as to the historical context, and whether or not it is enough to supersede verse 4:24 of the Quran).
